Set to take place at the Smoothie King Center on Saturday, July 19, 2025, the main event promises high-stakes drama as Holloway defends his title, while Poirier looks to conclude his illustrious career on a victorious note, according to BBC.

      As reported by USA Today, Dustin Poirier (30–9) has repeatedly alluded to retirement throughout 2024, with emotional comments made during the NFL Draft further fueling speculation about his future in the sport.

     This will mark the 35th and potentially final fight of Poirier’s professional MMA career, taking place in his home state of Louisiana. In a symbolic gesture, Poirier is expected to be accompanied by rapper Lil Wayne for his walkout at the Smoothie King Center adding cultural flair to what may be his last Pay-Per-View appearance, notes CBS Sports.

      Poirier enters the octagon with a psychological advantage, having already defeated Holloway (26–8) on two previous occasions once via submission in 2012, and again by unanimous decision in a 2019 interim lightweight title bout.
