On October 19, 2012, a movie titled Student of the Year was released by Dharma Productions. This movie had three lead actors: Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, and Sidharth Malhotra. Varun and Alia had one thing in common: they were both star kids, products of the industry. However, Sidharth Malhotra was an actor who was neither the son of any star nor any director, nor any businessman. But that one outsider was given the most importance in the entire film, which is rarely seen from Karan Johar. And not only this, this actor's rise in Bollywood was sudden; Dharma Productions offered him movie after movie. How did an average middle-class boy, whose father was an ex-Navy Merchant, reach the lavish lifestyle of Bollywood people and become like them? Was everything so easy? How did the son of an ex-Navy Merchant become a Bollywood star? Is all this merely the result of his talent, or was there a major source behind him that served as the biggest ladder to his stardom?
Let's discuss. Sidharth Malhotra was born on January 16, 1985, in Delhi into a Punjabi Hindu family. His family was very supportive and always stood by him in his education and career. Sidharth did his schooling at Don Bosco School and Naval Children School. During his school days, his interest was in sports and acting. Over time, his inclination shifted towards modeling and the film industry. He completed his college education in Delhi, but his main interest always remained the entertainment industry. After finishing college, Sidharth moved to Mumbai to try his luck. Initially, his main goal was to become a model, which he did. Sidharth was always good-looking and tall, which helped a lot in his modeling career. The perfect combination of modeling and ads helped Sidharth's career financially.
In 2010, when he was offered a major role in a film, he turned it down to work as an Assistant Director with Karan Johar. He went to join Karan Johar as an assistant director, and surprisingly, Karan Johar took an outsider as an assistant director with him on the movie My Name Is Khan. After this, once again, Karan Johar surprisingly cast him in Student of the Year, which was released in 2012. Not only did he cast him, but he also gave Sidharth more limelight than Varun Dhawan. He gave Sidharth a better character than Varun Dhawan. Since Varun himself came from a star family, it didn't affect his career when Sidharth overshadowed him; in fact, Varun Dhawan has a more successful career than Sidharth today. Comparing Sidharth and Varun, Varun has done more movies and given more hits.
Talking about Sidharth's theatrical releases, only two out of 13 movies have been semi-hits, and one movie has been a hit. The rest of them have mostly been flops. And many of these movies were done with Dharma Productions, which were mostly flops. In such a scenario, a question repeatedly comes to mind: why was Dharma Productions, such a big production house, repeatedly offering movies to such a flop actor?
Famous journalist Simi Chadoke, in an interview, revealed that Sidharth Malhotra and Karan Johar were in a relationship. Yes, Karan and Sidharth were seen going on dinner dates many times. Karan Johar used to buy very expensive gifts for Sidharth. These gifts were so expensive that Sidharth could not even dream of affording them during his initial days, but Karan used to buy him everything like a sugar daddy: Prada bags, Gucci clothes, iPhones, and much more. Karan was so crazy that you can gauge it from the fact that, according to an India Forums article, Sidharth, during his so-called struggling days, lived in a plush apartment in Bandra and went to the gym at the Taj Lands End Hotel, which is the most expensive gym in that area. He also had a pet dog that used to come to the set in his car. He already lived the life of a very successful and rich movie star even before a single film of his was released in Bollywood.
According to Simi, Sid used Karan Johar, took expensive gifts from him, got work in movies, and escaped from his clutches, after which Karan Johar was completely heartbroken. Otherwise, whether it's Kartik Aaryan or Sushant Singh Rajput, Karan Johar doesn't give a chance to any outsider as easily as he did to Sidharth Malhotra. Sidharth Malhotra only caused a loss to Dharma Productions. And somewhere, this is the biggest reason why Karan Johar's Dharma Productions is facing a very heavy loss today, due to which he had to sell 50% of his shares.
Only giving work to his favorite people, kicking out those who don't enter into relationships with him, or playing dirty politics with actors, whether it is Kartik Aaryan, Sushant Singh Rajput, or even Priyanka Chopra, Karan has played with everyone's lives. Some people endured this politics, some couldn't. One left the world, and one left the country. However, Kartik, showing wisdom, didn't talk much about Karan and his mess, due to which he didn't hurt Karan's ego, and he is still in this industry. Otherwise, with Karan's habits, Kartik's belongings would have been packed up from the industry long ago.
Anyway, after so many flops, finally a movie comes, named Shershaah, which was again released under the banner of Dharma Productions, but it was released on OTT. But even then, people loved it excessively, and it was from here that the news of Kiara and Sidharth's relationship started coming out. These rumors grew so much that the media started publishing not only their dating rumors but also their marriage rumors. And finally, on February 7, 2023, Kiara and Sidharth got married. The wedding was quite beautiful. Everyone who saw the photos and videos of that wedding said that it looked nothing short of a fairy tale.
But what I am going to tell now might be quite shocking for many people. I told you about Sidharth and Karan's gay relationship, but during the research for this video, I found some Reddit posts that were quite shocking even for me, so I'm sure they will be just as shocking for you too. However, these are just Reddit posts, and I do not guarantee their authenticity, but if the things said in them are viewed in the context of Bollywood, they might even be true.
In fact, one Reddit post shared screenshots of some tweets from 2021, in which that person made a revelation, and that revelation is something like this: Two young actresses who were working in a biopic of a famous cricketer started liking each other during the shooting, and this relationship progressed so much that there was a physical relationship between the two. Along with this, they went on dinner dates, went on vacations, and everything was going well for 2 years, and people in the industry knew about it too. But exactly 2 years later, the two broke up, and then both chose an actor. One chose a bulky hunk, and the other chose a flop actor who was exactly like her.
Now you must have understood who this is about. In my opinion, those two actresses were Disha Patani and Kiara Advani, who were working together in a biopic of a famous cricketer, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. One chose a bulky hunk boyfriend, i.e., Tiger Shroff, and the other chose a flop actor, i.e., Sidharth Malhotra. I don't know how much truth there is in this Reddit post, but whatever this person revealed in the post, eventually happened. Disha and Tiger were in a relationship; everyone knew that. Sidharth and Kiara even got married. Sidharth, who was earlier in a relationship with Karan Johar, is now with Kiara, meaning that also happened. So, somewhere, there is a sense in this post. And as for Disha Patani, you can clearly see her actions with Mouni Roy at this time, and a hint is enough for the wise.
Anyway, one thing must have become clear to you from this video: the one who has Karan Johar's hand on their head can live a better life than good actors even as a struggler, and if someone doesn't get along with Karan Johar, no matter how big an actor they are, even if they give superhits like M.S. Dhoni and Chhichhore, producers will still not offer them movies. Somewhere, the downfall that Dharma Productions is facing right now is deserved. If you suppress talent and consider the entire industry as your father's property, the industry might be your father's property, but not the audience's. No matter how many movies you give to someone who doesn't have the power to pull a crowd, it will only count as a flop.
Before ending, I want to clarify one more thing: I have no problem with anyone's sexuality. I just wanted to show how an actor who was a complete outsider builds his career solely on the strength of his sugar daddy.
